i don't know whether this has ever been asked, so i apologize if i'm repeating.. what did you do at the last meeting you ever attended?
did you stay for the whole thing?
what made you realize that this was your last meeting, or did you not know it would be your last meeting??.
I had not been at a meeting for a few months due to moving house.
I had already told Mrs Scotsman I had big doubts about the org.
Anyway I finally attended a meeting at our new cong - walked in, put my briefcase on the chair and looked around and immediately knew I could not do it anymore, Went to the loo feeling a massive desire to walk out the hall.
I sat through that meeting being reminded continually why I had to leave - meetings are totally different when your brain is switched on!
A few pubs came up to me after the meeting to welcome me to the cong - I tried to keep composed but I suspect a few must have thought me a bit frosty.
I went home after the meeting and told my wife I was not going back - she was pretty upset as I think she thought I was just going through a phase.
The good news - she followed me out 5 months later.
Best decision we have ever made - despite the fallout from it.
To anyone thinking of doing the same - don't delay, escape today!
ok, to all you 'christians' who love to and rightly do comment on threads attacking your 'lord', enough with the.
''may you have peace dear so and so''.
''your fellow slave in christ''.
I think you may be over-reacting a tad....
heard an interesting story today of a little old lady in her nineties.
the poor old dear had been in hospitial very poorly for a few months but as soon as she was discharged, even though she was still very weak,.
she told her daughter "i must go to church on sunday".
Let me get this straight - your questioning the existence of God because this woman fell out of a car when she was going to church!!
All I can say is that she wanted to go to church and she will be happy that she tried to get there - despite her "accident".
This is genuine - I was there!
One of the lizard people waved at me!
Pretty freaky!
Goodness knows how fast it was going when it goes upwards at the end!!
i just got off listening to the the tape about the teh bethlelite brothers and the case a member of the anointed has filed against a congregation about an illegal disfellowshiping...and both of these "brothers" have set this organization for a very hard fall!
but!...thats not what i see from what o got from these tapes....but it will be a big contributing factor (i actually feel sorry for those poor "ignorant" elders who will be left to "flap-in-the-wind" over this!!!
)..but its what ii know is comig about all religion that know for a fact!!!
i CAN REFERE YOU TO MANY ARTICLES
Well so far you haven't.
If you could point us all to your source material it would make for a more logical debate on the subject.
People have said religion is dead loads of times over the centuries - and yet it is still here!
Religion is not going anywhere anytime soon - many religions are still growing.
Many people keep spirituality at home now - they no longer feel the need to attend at a hall/church, but they are no less religious.
evolutionists always claim that the reason why they believe in evolution and reject creation is due to "evidence".
they frequently use the opposite term "no evidence" in relation to any type of intelligent design, or creation, (and especially to genesis creation and flood history !).
their advocated beliefs always tend to include whatever is necessary to believe in to intellectually "explain" the existence of the universe, world, and its creatures without needing god).
I didn't stutter Scotsman and I don't cherry-pick the evidence.
I never said you did - just perhaps were ignoring some of it or perhaps unaware of the scientists who have a different view on the fossil record. There is indeed 2 sides to this story.
Since I'm using half-measures would you mind listing some species here that I can go over with you what they evolved from and either why they died out or what animal they are ancestors to today.
No point - you will merely read from a book / quote a scientific paper that suggests an evolutionery process of sorts which is yet to be proven.

Then there's the entire fossil record.
No half measures there Tuesday!
The fact you say this suggests either you have not studied the fossil record in great detail or you are choosing to ignore a heck of a lot of it.
